Meal Plan Transfer Program – 01/31/2012
Effective immediately and until further notice, students may now sell all or a portion of their unspent mandatory meal plan points to another individual. The financial transaction is conducted exclusively between the buyer and seller and does not involve any university policy, personnel or department. At a time suitable to both the buyer and seller, they will both need to appear, together, at the Cardinal Card Office, located in the lower level of the Houchens Building, to transfer the points from one account to the other. The Cardinal Card Office will not charge any fee for providing this service.
To be eligible for this program, participants must meet and agree to the following requirements:
- Prior to the completion of any transfer of points, the Cardinal Card Office will verify that the seller’s student account is in good standing and that there is no outstanding meal plan balance on the seller’s tuition account. Any unpaid balance will result in the denial of a point transfer.
- Buyer and Seller must appear together at the Cardinal Card Office to complete the necessary forms and must have their current and valid ID with them.
- Only original mandatory meal plan points are available for transfer. Voluntary points added in addition to the required meal plan are not eligible for transfer.
- Points will expire at the end of the Spring semester.
- Seller is only permitted one point transfer per semester.
- Point transfer requests cannot be completed during the first three (3) weeks of the semester.
- Please allow five (5) business days following the request for the point transfer to be processed.
Any questions relative to the process of the point transfer can be directed to the Cardinal Card Office at (502)852-7520 or email at campcard@louisville.edu.
